About Me

So, you want to know about me, huh? Scary!

Statistics

OK, now that we’ve gotten the basics out of the way…

There are a lot of ways I could go about the “about me” page. I’m pretty sure you’re not interested in a full autobiography, nor do I have the desire or attention span to sit here and type one. Although, it would be interesting, I can usually tell a pretty good story.
For the sake of brevity, we’ll just keep it simple for now…
I was born in Syracuse, New York and spent the first 20 years of my life in various rural areas and suburbs of the same. I moved to Massachusetts in 1989, for reasons I won’t get into (Brevity, remember?) and have been living in the western MA, Pioneer Valley ever since.
I’ve always been a little flighty when it comes to things that interest me, and what interests me today, I may find totally boring and repulsive tomorrow. This type of behavior among other traits of immaturity, I’ve found, let me enjoy quite an extended adolescence, which I may or may not have fully outgrown.

There has really only been one thing that endured as a constant interest over the years…..Music.
I’ve played guitar since I was about 14 years old, and has pretty much been a part of me since I first took it up. While I may not be that great, nor have I developed a technical proficiency that is justified by the amount of years that I’ve played, I still enjoy it none the less.

I’ve done quite a bit over the years but I’d say that my biggest contribution to the world came on July 8th, 2005, in the form of a nine pound baby boy. Jacob is what I’d think most would-be parents hope for their child to be; smart, funny, well-behaved, and absolutely adorable. Most of which, I’m not ashamed to say, he gets from me! :D

So, as you may suspect, I enjoy spending most of my free time with my son, as well as my other interests of the day. Besides playing guitar and singing, most of those interests seem to be PC-centric. I got kind of a late start in life when it comes to technology related things but caught on pretty quick and realized that technology has a lot to offer in the pursuit of audio/visual endeavors, such as, graphic design, Video production, home recording, web design (duh!). Clearly, I did take an interest in web design for a short time and still dabble in it here and there but I don’t build anything from the ground up anymore. I’m obviously geeky enough to have an understanding of installing WordPress software on a web server and altering themes via PHP, CSS, and HTML editing but that’s about as deep as I get into the coding these days.

As for my occupation, it is a means to allow me to enjoy when I’m not doing it. Nothing more. Most people in my position never grew up saying that they wanted to run a 3rd shift crew of stock clerks when they grow up and I’m no different. The difference lies in the fact that I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. So, I’m just being and enjoying it the best I can. I make no pretenses about having some magical five year plan to better myself or change the world, this is me. I like it and it doesn’t really matter if you don’t. :)

Well, that’s about it. If you’re further interested, I may find that quite disturbing but I’ll be flattered. ;)
